Role :Software Engineer 

Location:  Buffalo, NY

Duration : Contract duration is until the end of 2026 to start;  possible extensions.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microsoft Azure to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have experience building RESTful APIs, integrating cloud services, implementing secure authentication mechanisms, and developing cloud-native applications using Azure. Experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.

Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices.

Develop cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions, Azure Service Integrations, Key Vault, Managed Identities, and Azure Monitoring.

Implement secure API authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0 and related security standards.

Integrate internal and third-party APIs using Java HTTP client libraries.

Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.

Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement robust exception and error handling.

Create and maintain unit tests to ensure high code quality and reliability.

Utilize build automation tools such as Maven or Gradle and participate in CI/CD processes.

Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions.

Required Skill Set

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Strong Java development (OOP, Data Structures, Concurrency)

Spring Boot and RESTful API development
