Project Overview - PTSS C5ISR Hardware & Software Program
The Lockwood Group supports a C5ISR hardware and software program for a U.S. Army customer located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD. This effort provides product technical support services for systems and equipment produced, fielded, modified, or sustained under PdM Network Modernization (NetMod) and PdM Mission Network within the Project Manager Tactical Network (PM TN), Program Executive Office C3T (PEO C3T).
The program supports the development, integration, and sustainment of mission-critical tactical network capabilities to maintain the Army's technological advantage.
Position Overview
The Software Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting tactical network and C5ISR systems. This role works closely with analysts, engineers, and Government stakeholders to translate operational requirements into scalable, reliable software solutions.
The position requires strong software architecture skills, experience in structured development environments, and the ability to support mission-focused applications within DoD programs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting engineering and tactical network systems
  • Analyze user requirements and translate them into software architecture and functional specifications
  • Develop tools, interfaces, and embedded software components
  • Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution applications
  • Conduct unit, integration, and system-level testing to identify and resolve software defects
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides and system specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software functionality, performance, and security across platforms
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and implement updates based on user feedback

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in software development
  • Experience analyzing user requirements and developing software architecture solutions
  • Experience conducting testing and debugging activities
  • Experience developing software documentation and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in Java
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
