Senior Backend Java Developer (Java/Spring Boot)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Backend Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and REST APIs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, backend development, testing frameworks, and modern cloud-native development practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend applications, REST APIs, and microservices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality backend software.
  • Follow established architecture guidelines and development best practices.
  • Work closely with frontend developers and cross-functional teams to integrate application components.
  • Deploy and maintain applications in cloud or on-premises environments.
  • Monitor application health, performance, and reliability.
  • Manage data storage and retrieval using relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Promote software quality through test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Improve backend infrastructure and deployment processes to enhance resiliency and reliability.
  • Support application security practices, including data protection through encryption and anonymization.
  • Troubleshoot production issues using observability and debugging tools.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 6+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
  • Experience building or maintaining test frameworks and testing tools.
  • Strong understanding of software quality practices and continuous improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of observability, debugging, and production operations.
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud computing concepts.
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform experience is preferred but not required.
