Java React information

What is a Java React?

A Java React job typically involves developing web applications using Java for backend services and React.js for the frontend. Professionals in this role are responsible for building scalable, efficient APIs and microservices while creating dynamic and responsive user interfaces. They must have expertise in Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate) and frontend technologies like React, JavaScript, and Redux. The role often requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance web applications. Strong problem-solving skills and experience with databases, RESTful APIs, and cloud technologies are also essential.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Java React position?

To thrive as a Java React professional, you need expertise in Java for backend development and React.js for building interactive user interfaces, often supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with tools such as Git, RESTful APIs, and build systems like Maven or Webpack, as well as relevant certifications in Java or frontend frameworks, is highly advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively within agile teams set candidates apart in this role. These skills are crucial to delivering robust, scalable software solutions that meet both technical and business requirements.

What typical challenges might I face in a Java React role?

As a Java React developer, you may encounter challenges such as integrating complex backend logic with a dynamic frontend, optimizing application performance, and maintaining clean, scalable code across both Java and React-based systems. Balancing new feature development with fixing bugs or refactoring legacy code is also common. Additionally, you might need to keep up with rapid changes in frontend frameworks and backend best practices, which can require continuous learning. Collaborating effectively with designers, backend and frontend developers, and QA teams is essential to successfully deliver high-quality software products.

Job description

Overview
Steampunk is seeking a Solution Architect responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions that support client mission objectives. The Solution Architect works closely with program leadership, engineers, architects, and stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into well-architected systems.
This role provides technical leadership across the solution lifecycle, ensuring architectural consistency, integration across systems, and alignment with modern engineering practices such as Agile delivery, DevSecOps, and AWS cloud-native architectures. The Solution Architect evaluates technology options, establishes architectural standards, and supports engineering teams in implementing resilient, scalable, and secure solutions utilizing Java, React, HTML, and Python.
Contributions
Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the Solution Architect for complex technology programs, guiding the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
  • Define and communicate the overall solution architecture, ensuring alignment with mission needs, enterprise architecture standards, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with program leadership, product owners, engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate functional and technical requirements into solution designs.
  • Lead technical design discussions and architecture reviews to ensure consistency, maintainability, scalability, and security across systems and applications.
  • Evaluate technology options and architectural approaches, identifying advantages, risks, and tradeoffs to inform solution decisions.
  • Define and promote architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices to ensure consistency across systems and development teams.
  • Guide engineering teams in implementing architecture patterns including microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and AWS cloud-native solutions utilizing Java, React, HTML, and Python.
  • Support integration of enterprise applications, APIs, services, and data across cloud and hybrid environments to ensure cohesive solution architecture.
  • Ensure solutions incorporate security, performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability considerations throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Partner with DevSecOps teams to promote automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud automation practices.
  • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts including solution diagrams, technical documentation, architecture roadmaps, and technical standards.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to engineering teams and other technical staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations to ensure cohesive solution delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering practices, architecture standards, technical governance, and solution delivery processes.

Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or technical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing complex enterprise technology solutions.
  • Experience defining solution architectures for distributed systems, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
  • Experience designing and implementing AWS cloud architectures and modern cloud-native platforms.
  • Experience architecting solutions utilizing Java, React, HTML, and Python.
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications, APIs, services, and data across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Experience working within Agile and DevSecOps environments supporting modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate technologies and recommend architectural approaches based on technical, business, and mission requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or guiding engineering teams through architecture design and implementation decisions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility with stakeholders and build consensus across technical and program teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce architecture documentation, technical designs, and solution artifacts.
  • AWS cloud certification preferred.
  • AI experience preferred.
