Job description

Job Description: Position will provide support to the MDA's Test Directorate, Consolidated Flight Test Organization in support of the test planning and execution of the Space Based Interceptor program.

Candidate will assist in development of pre-mission flight test design/scenarios and support flight test execution by:

  • Performing pre-mission target and interceptor trajectory generation and optimization
  • Performing pre-mission quantitative safety and risk analyses to ensure tests can be conducted safely in accordance with Range Commanders Council safety standards
  • Supporting Range Safety Working Group meeting and activities to include tracking action items, data delivery schedules, and analysis schedules
  • Assist with pre-mission telemetry link and radar assessments to ensure flight test architecture meets data collection requirements
    Assist senior team members in conducting COLA (collision avoidance) assessments for day of flight execution

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organization and Missile Defense System (MDS) designs, performance and testing
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, Java, and/or other programming languages
  • Basic understanding of Orbital Mechanics and Physics

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of RF Engineering and Communication design and processing
  • Knowledge of Range Commander's Council Standards

Education: BA/BS in a field pertinent to the position being filled. 5 years relevant experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree requirement
