Job description

Job Title: Software Developer (Java) Location: Columbia, SC Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 days remote). Position Type: C2C/W2 Years of Experience:17+ years Duration of the Contract: 12 months Candidate Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident. No relocation allowed.

Project Scope: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer (Java) to design, develop, and support large-scale, enterprise-grade systems within a complex, regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Python, cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), and modern microservices architectures. This role involves full lifecycle software development, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate technical designs and trade-offs are essential. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of large-scale, distributed applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Python Architect, deploy, and optimize applications on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS) Design and implement cloud-based solutions on Azure (AKS, App Services, Function Apps, Blob Storage, Azure SQL) Develop and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases including Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, and CosmosDB Implement microservices and cloud-native architectures with scalability and high availability Lead containerized application development using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) Define, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and AWS CodePipeline Develop automation solutions using Python for ETL workflows, cloud automation, and infrastructure scripting Apply enterprise security standards including role-based access control and data protection Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions Lead production incident analysis, performance tuning, and system stabilization Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, enterprise architecture standards, and governance policies Required Skills & Experience: 15+ years in Java, Spring Boot, Python enterprise application development 6+ years Strong experience in both AWS and Azure architecture and services 6 + years Advanced Python scripting and automation experience 6+ years Deep knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native design 6+ years Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines 6+ years Strong SQL & NoSQL experience Preferred Skills: 6+ Prior experience working in areas of emerging technology and driving new points of view and capabilities 6+ Experience in robust development ensuring low defect products and the ability to articulate the design and implementation details 6+ Solid testing and validation skills and understanding of simulated data
