Your responsibilities:

  • Work as part of an agile development team to design and build enterprise scale services using Java
  • Write unit tests and integration tests for your code and collaborate with Test to develop test cases
  • Develop deployment systems for Java based systems
  • Create technical documentation and detail design document
  • Collaborate with product owners on user story generation and refinement
  • Monitor and support the operation of production systems
  • Participate in knowledge sharing activities with colleagues

About you:

  • Minimum 10 years of Java development experience
  • Required technology experience:
    • Java
    • Linux
    • Network protocols such as HTTP, TLS, TCP
    • Web services technology such as REST, JSON, or Thrift
  • Experience with:
    • Agile development methodologies
    • Test driven development
    • Continuous integration systems
    • Multi-threaded programming
    • Service oriented architecture
  • Experience with any of the following is an asset:
    • Application performance tuning
    • Cloud computing, virtualization and containerization
    • Big Data technology

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia's pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive extended health benefits program, including virtual healthcare and a wellness allowance. Employees also receive annual allotted vacation days, which increase based on tenure. $90,000—$130,000 CAD
