We partner closely with consultants and customers to embed AI and automation into delivery, supporting PS's priorities to cut implementation effort and time while scaling AI-powered services and revenue growth.
In this role, you'll focus on workflow engineering-using AI, scripting, and data to remove bottlenecks across the Guidewire implementation lifecycle and customer business processes. You'll help build internal tools, automations, and reporting that scale AI capabilities across Guidewire-led and partner-led projects, directly supporting PS's transformation goals around automation, operational excellence, and measurable customer value.
This is a hands-on internship where your work will contribute to Guidewire's broader mission to transform how P&C insurers do business through cloud, analytics, and AI-enabled services.

Job Description
What you'll do
  • Use Python and TypeScript to script and automate repetitive Professional Services tasks such as environment setup, configuration validation, and boilerplate code or test generation.
  • Help design and build internal workflow automations that reduce implementation effort and time, supporting PS's vision to cut delivery effort by 50% and time by 30%.
  • Assist customer-facing teams in creating proof-of-concept AI workflows that streamline insurance processes like claims intake, document triage, or policy underwriting within the Guidewire product suite.
  • Contribute to internal "AI assistant" tooling that helps developers and consultants navigate Guidewire's codebase, configuration artifacts, and documentation more efficiently.
  • Develop lightweight data pipelines and dashboards (for example, using Python, SQL, or visualization tools) to report on efficiency gains, time savings, and quality improvements from automation initiatives.
  • Map existing manual workflows within the Global Delivery Center, document them clearly, and identify high-impact opportunities where AI or scripting can remove friction.
  • Collaborate with consultants, product, and operations partners to troubleshoot automation issues, validate that tools solve real project problems, and iterate based on feedback.
  • At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI-empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.
What you'll bring
Required
  • Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language commonly used for automation or data work (Python or JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Interest in business process automation and enthusiasm for making complex software systems more efficient and reliable.
  • Ability to work with data (logs, metrics, or simple datasets) and turn it into clear, concise reports or dashboards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documenting technical workflows for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset, openness to feedback, and curiosity to learn enterprise software, cloud, and AI concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Preferred
  • Exposure to Java or other enterprise software stacks, and interest in large-scale, cloud-delivered platforms.
  • Experience with workflow or automation frameworks (for example, scripting deployment steps, job schedulers, or low-code automation tools).
  • Familiarity with building simple dashboards or analytics views using tools like Streamlit, QuickSight, or similar.
  • Academic, internship, or personal projects that automated a manual task, built a data-driven dashboard, or used AI/ML to improve a process.
  • Interest in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance domain and a desire to learn the Guidewire product ecosystem and how insurers run their core operations.
Your Impact
We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first months, you'll learn how Professional Services teams implement Guidewire solutions, then start by enhancing small automation scripts, building utilities (for example using large language models to generate unit tests or validate configuration), and contributing to dashboards that show how much effort PS is saving through AI and automation. As you grow, you'll help prototype new workflows that support PS's goals to embed AI capabilities across Guidewire-led and partner-led projects, improve implementation velocity, and make services offerings more repeatable and data-driven.
Your work will help delivery teams and customers realize value faster from Guidewire's platform, directly supporting our mission to transform the way P&C insurers do business with cloud, analytics, and AI-powered services.
What's in it for you
The people we employ give their all, and in return, we offer flexibility wherever we can, such as:
  • Flexible work environment
  • Health and Wellness benefits
  • Paid time off programs including volunteer time off
  • Market-competitive pay and incentive programs
  • Continual development and internal career growth opportunities

All roles include an in-person orientation to help you build strong connections, understand our culture, and ramp up effectively in your new team.
The US hourly rate for this full-time position is $28. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, competitive vacation packages, and a company-sponsored retirement plan, as outlined in our talent rewards program.
