Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Application Integration Engineer to support enterprise middleware platforms, Java applications, web services, APIs, and system integrations. This individual will work closely with application development, infrastructure, database, and business teams to maintain existing integrations, modernize middleware environments, and develop reliable connections between front-end, middleware, and back-end systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel, JBoss EAP, Java, Linux, APIs, web services, and enterprise application integration methodologies. The engineer will also provide production support for live integrations and assist with application-server upgrades, custom batch processes, and internal application development.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and support enterprise middleware platforms, including Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel, JBoss EAP, and QuartzDesk.

Support Java-based applications, internal web applications, web services, APIs, and custom batch-processing solutions.

Design, develop, test, deploy, and document integrations between front-end applications, middleware platforms, databases, and back-end systems.

Create and maintain RESTful and SOAP-based web services and APIs.

Upgrade, replace, configure, and support JBoss EAP application servers.

Develop reusable integration components, services, frameworks, and standardized interfaces.

Provide ongoing operational and production support for live enterprise integrations.

Investigate and resolve application, server, API, web-service, messaging, and middleware incidents.

Analyze application logs, system failures, integration errors, and performance issues.

Support Linux and Windows server environments.

Maintain source code and application configurations using GitLab and Git-based version-control processes.

Develop integrated solutions that modernize, consolidate, and coordinate independently designed enterprise applications.

Apply enterprise application-development best practices, including architectural guardrails, governance, reusable components, coding standards, and design standards.

Work with message-queuing technologies, middleware applications, common data standards, and data-distribution processes.

Gather, analyze, compile, and synthesize information related to technology processes and systems.

Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to implement approved technology solutions.

Prepare technical documentation, implementation plans, system-support documentation, and operational procedures.

Participate in weekly status meetings and communicate completed activities, upcoming work, risks, issues, and dependencies.

Provide weekly progress reports and maintain accurate monthly timesheets.

Support deployments, upgrades, production incidents, and maintenance activities outside normal business hours when necessary.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of five years of program or systems analysis experience, with emphasis on:

Work Requirements

This is an onsite position based in Tallahassee, Florida.

The selected consultant will generally work approximately 40 hours per week during normal business hours.

The consultant must be available for occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work to support deployments, maintenance, upgrades, and production incidents.

The selected candidate must successfully complete the required background screening.

All work involving systems and protected data must be performed within the United States.

The consultant must comply with all applicable information-security, confidentiality, data-access, and acceptable-use requirements.
