SAP ABAP Developer

Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking SAP ABAP Developer with a passion for growth and business transformation. Join our team and utilize SAP technology to configure, develop, deliver and support applications for our clients while leveraging concepts of Lean, Agile, Kanban and SAFe. Our clients are some of the world's leading companies and the candidate will be a part of challenging projects to build and support technical solutions for their needs.

Duties and Responsibilities: The SAP ABAP Developer will work with clients to understand their business requirements, and help design a solution, using their business process knowledge. They will assist clients in the implementation, configuration, and support of SAP Functionality. The goal is to effectively integrate packaged technology into the client's business environment in order to achieve client expected business results. This position is expected to provide expert level business process guidance on SAP and facilitate SAP ABAP development and performance analysis for client.

Other duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Manage design, development and implementation of ABAP projects.
  • Review and revise technical designs to meet ABAP project requirements.
  • Recommend process improvements to achieve project goals.
  • Provide technical and functional guidance to other staffs.
  • Provide high quality customer support throughout the project.
  • Conduct defect analysis and perform necessary fixes and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with functional owners, architects and other personnel to develop dynamic and flexible systems to meet the emerging demands of the market.
  • Assist in unit testing of ABAP programs.
  • Review program codes and correct ABAP program errors.
  • Maintain and update existing program codes as needed.
  • Develop technical specification and estimations for assigned project.
  • Work in compliance with the programming and documentation standards.
  • Ensure project completion within the allotted timelines and budget.
  • Troubleshoot production problems in a timely manner

Requirements Minimum Qualifications/Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of full lifecycle, Systems Integration, SAP implementation experience 3+ years ABAP Development and Performance Analysis Experience including testing, debugging and resolving issues to the implemented enhancements / conversions / reports related to SAP modules. SAP Development Implementation experience on SAP modules like Financials, including Funds Management, Controlling, Plant Maintenance. Must possess extensive knowledge in the following areas:

  • General ABAP and Java programming and debugging
  • SRM (Extended Classic Scenario) Vendor Invoice Management (VIM)
  • Workflow in both the ECC and SRM systems
  • Enterprise Portal, especially with SRM and Workflow (UWL)
  • Interfaces, mostly manual and batch, but possible future Web Services
  • SmartForms, Adobe Forms, and ReportPainter
  • XML, Web Dynpro for ABAP and Java, SAP Agentry Mobile Development
  • Dialog programming for custom screens
  • Programming for Barcode usage for Inventory and Asset Management
  • Support for SAP PM and SAP Mobile asset management
  • Development of E-commerce type activities, i.e. Biller Direct/PSCD
  • Business Intelligence and Data warehousing
  • ECC and SRM data archiving, implementation, setup, support, upgrades, and report creation
  • Technical documentation including knowledge transfer documents and knowledge transfer sessions (system requirements, supporting documentation)
  • Knowledge in all phases of development and deployment lifecycle is preferred

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree – Required

Required Certifications: No required certifications. SAP, SAFe, CSM certifications desired.

Other: Primarily off-site work with some travel as necessary
