Role Overview
We are seeking a Front-End Software Engineer for an engagement focused on supporting a space ground system transitioning from a prototype into full operations. This role is for engineers who excel at writing clean, maintainable code and delivering features against defined requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain user-facing components for a complex ground system.
  • Collaborate with back-end engineers, system architects, and integration teams to deliver cohesive functionality.
  • Translate UI/UX designs and requirements into performant, testable code.
  • Participate in feature-level design discussions and code reviews.
  • Contribute to incremental improvements, bug fixes, and enhancements.
  • Support integration and testing activities as features are delivered.
  • Work within Agile or hybrid development teams executing against established plans.
Required Qualifications
Clearance: An active Top Secret (TS) U.S. Security Clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility post-start.
Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on front-end or full-stack implementation. Experience with ground-to-space or space-to-ground systems and prior work in mission-critical or operational environments are necessary.
Technical Skills: Strong experience with modern front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular). Proficiency in consuming APIs and integrating with back-end services. Solid understanding of foundational Computer Science principles, object-oriented design, and software patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Experience developing with Astro UX or similar mission visualization tools.
  • Prior work on government, aerospace, or defense programs.
  • Familiarity with Java, C++, Python, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., REACT), Spring Framework, REST, and OpenAPI.
  • Experience using dependency management and automation services such as Maven, Gradle, Git, or Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, and test-driven development (TDD).
