Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance Travel Requirement: Up to 25% Citizenship: US Citizens required Sherpa 6 is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Android Developer to join our team. We build mission critical systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other commercial customers. We're looking for experienced Kotlin and Java developers who are familiar with developing applications for the Android environment. Responsibilities: * Design and develop high-quality, scalable Android applications in Kotlin/Java
* Implement unit and integration testing for mobile environments
* Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables
* Architect efficient and reusable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards
* Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security
* Optimize application performance and responsiveness
* Stay updated on the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies
* Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the development team Requirements * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required)
* 5+ years of Android development experience
* Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
* Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java programming languages
* Strong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools
* Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON
* Solid understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, or Trello
Qualities of Exceptional Candidates: * Experience working in STIG-compliant environments/instances
* Experience working with Client/Server Certificates, Certificate Authorities, and Client Certificate Authentication
* Experience with encryption and cryptography algorithms
* Experience with reactive programming frameworks (e.g., RxJava)
* Experience with Android Jetpack libraries (e.g. Compose, Room)
