Engineer - Senior Production (1114) - MOR
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Provide engineering services to assigned area of complexity.
  • Assist engineering supervisor in developing peers.
  • Must analyze and act on sales forecasts.
  • Coordinate manpower when applicable.
  • Train others when applicable.
  • Design, procure, and test tooling, fixtures, and gauging for machining and/or assembly processes.
  • Assist and/or program PLC and/or CNC machines.
  • Analyze process/equipment problems for long-term solutions.
  • Continuously improve assigned area processes.
  • Perform process testing as assigned.
  • Participate in Kaizen teams.
  • Administer process changes in engineering documents.
  • Access spare part problems and makes appropriate changes as approved.
  • Groom new equipment to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Perform equipment capability studies and P.F.M.E.A.
  • Determine new equipment layout for approval.
  • Prepare detailed equipment specifications.
  • Oversight and develop of large capital projects.
  • Make engineering reports as required for process development or troubleshooting.
  • Perform housekeeping duties are required.
  • Project administration for process changes (i.e. new products, etc.
  • Provide and coordinate to provide technical assistance in process design and application; aid in systematic problem solving; communicate and/or collaborate with TMW/Customer, as necessary.
  • Review (including customer) drawings, specifications, procedures, and related materials to assure development of designs that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Support development and implementation of new products and product improvements.
  • Ensure documentation and reporting as appropriate for resultant data, information, requirements, and etcetera's (including maintaining visual controls).
  • Other jobs as assigned by supervisor.

  • Minimum 3 years at JTEKT as level 2 engineer.

  • Automated equipment-troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge in close tolerance machining or assembly.
  • Tooling/fixture design and/or selection.
  • Knowledge of PLC and/or CNC programming.
  • Related experience should include General Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), QS9000/TS16949 Documents (PFMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
  • Project management experience is desired.
