Job description

We are seeking a Construction Engineer to assist our commercial construction operations and work closely with Project Managers to successfully deliver commercial construction projects on time and within budget. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow their career in project management within a fast-paced construction environment. On-site in Knoxville, Tennessee.
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating project documentation, supporting project execution, and helping ensure quality, cost control, and client satisfaction throughout the life of each project.

What You'll Do

  • Support Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects
  • Manage and maintain project documentation including plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and closeout materials
  • Assist with project scheduling, tracking progress, and coordinating activities across project teams
  • Support cost tracking, change orders, and project reporting
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate with estimating, operations, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Prepare project status updates and assist with ongoing project analysis
  • Complete site walks to support project coordination, verify scope alignment, and identify field-level considerations during the full project lifecycle
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and overall team success

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting construction projects in a project engineering or project management role
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with scheduling software is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

You need to be able to:
