Job description

Platform Engineer (Windows-Focused, Cross-Platform Runtime)

HuLoop Automation, based in Auburn, California, is an AI-powered work optimization platform helping organizations eliminate broken processes and scale without adding headcount. Today, most companies are not limited by strategy. They are limited by how work actually gets done. Disconnected systems, manual processes, and wasted effort consume up to 30% of employee time. HuLoop addresses this directly. At the core of our Human-in-the-Loop ethos, our Intelligent Agents work alongside people, handling repetitive tasks while empowering teams to focus on higher-value, strategic work. Our platform combines productivity discovery, workflow orchestration, process automation, content processing, and test automation into a single unified system. This allows organizations to identify inefficiencies, redesign work, and continuously improve operations across legacy and modern environments. With a rapidly growing customer base across banking, credit unions, retail, and financial services, HuLoop is helping define the future of work in highly regulated and operationally complex industries.

We are seeking a Mid-Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and support a Windows-first execution and desktop platform that powers intelligent, cross-platform workflows. This role is deeply rooted in Microsoft 365, Windows systems, and .NET-based execution, with secondary exposure to macOS and Rust-based components. You will work across desktop applications, background services, and distributed runtime systems, ensuring reliable execution in real-world enterprise environments. You'll work cross-functionally with product, QA, design, and DevOps to deliver impactful features and help shape our technical direction. A portion of this role includes hands-on engagement with customer environments, requiring travel to support deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain Windows execution systems using C# /.NET 8, including privileged brokers, user-session components, and session-aware runtime services (RDS / Terminal Services)
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across session isolation, unattended execution, permissions, and desktop interaction
  • Integrate with Microsoft 365 (Entra ID / Azure AD) and support real-world desktop workflows
  • Develop desktop (Tauri + Angular) and web control plane applications (Angular + TypeScript), including shared design system components
  • Contribute to a cross-platform runtime layer (Go) with exposure to macOS execution models and optional Rust-based components
  • Build and support integrations for RDS published apps, legacy desktop systems (UI Automation / Win32), and mainframe/terminal environments (EHLLAPI/HLLAPI)
  • Diagnose environment, networking, and execution context issues (ports, firewalls, access denied) and ensure secure, enterprise-grade deployments
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Azure DevOps
  • Travel (10–25%) to support customer implementations, troubleshooting, and optimization
Job Requirements:
  • Strong experience with C# / .NET (6+) and building Windows Services or system-level applications
  • Deep knowledge of Windows OS, user sessions, RDS / Terminal Services (including published applications), and Task Scheduler
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Entra ID / Azure AD) environments
  • Strong troubleshooting across permissions, identity, and interactive vs non-interactive execution environments
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (ports, firewalls, service communication)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with macOS system behavior (processes, permissions, background execution)
  • Experience with desktop automation, agent-based systems, or RPA platforms
  • Experience with Go (Golang) and/or Rust
  • Experience integrating with Java/Spring Boot services and REST APIs
  • Experience with Angular and TypeScript (or similar modern frontend frameworks)
  • Familiarity with agent-based architectures or local AI/LLM runtimes
  • Background in regulated or enterprise environments (financial services, commerce)
What Success Looks Like:
  • Strong Windows-first systems engineer who can extend into cross-platform runtime
  • Able to debug issues where environment matters as much as code
  • Comfortable working across desktop, services, and execution layers
  • Comfortable working in constrained customer-facing enterprise environments with security and infrastructure limitations
Equal Employment Opportunity Company:
  • HuLoop is an Equal Employment Opportunity company that offers an excellent benefit package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K. The company also offers paid vacation, holidays, and sick time.
  • Potential candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
