  • Assist in designing, developing, and implementing Generative AI applications within the SAP ecosystem, including front-end, back-end, AI model, and enterprise data integration
  • Develop Generative AI use cases such as intelligent agents, enterprise search, summarization, content generation, and workflow automation
  • Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions using embeddings, semantic search, and SAP HANA Cloud vector capabilities
  • Use SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP AI Core, and the generative AI hub to integrate and manage foundation models
  • Design and optimize prompts, structured outputs, and model orchestration workflows for enterprise business scenarios
  • Implement back-end services using Python, Node.js, or Java and integrate large language models with SAP and third-party APIs
  • Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces for AI-powered applications using SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, or modern front-end frameworks
  • Evaluate Generative AI solutions for accuracy, relevance, reliability, latency, and cost, and help implement guardrails to reduce hallucinations and unsafe outputs
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing, and AI evaluation to ensure high-quality performance and functionality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, data science, and development teams, to align on project requirements and deliverables

Qualifications

  • Position is in Palo Alto, and employees need to work from the SAP office in Palo Alto.
  • Ability to work full time for 40 hours per week is mandatory.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, or an equivalent field; candidates must have graduated or be graduating soon.
  • Strong software development skills with experience in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or Java
  • Foundational knowledge of Generative AI, large language models, machine learning, natural language processing, or AI application development
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs, data-driven applications, or cloud-based services
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, or retrieval-augmented generation
  • Past work experience is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience developing applications and agents using large language model APIs or open-source foundation models
  • Experience with prompt engineering, structured outputs, function calling, AI agents, RAG frameworks, or model-evaluation techniques
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP AI Core, the generative AI hub, or SAP HANA Cloud is a plus
