JOB DESCRIPTION

The Route Sales Driver is responsible for daily delivery of Java House Peel & Pour products to customers across the assigned market, while serving as the primary face-to-face service contact for those accounts. This position requires a hands-on individual who excels at inventory management, merchandising, and account servicing, with strong attention to safety, organization, and 5S adherence (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain).


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive delivery vehicles along dedicated routes, adhering to scheduling and ensuring timely, accurate, and safe delivery of Java House equipment and product
  • Unload, stage, and stock product at customer locations using industrial hand trucks and two-wheel dollies
  • Service existing Java House customer accounts by placing orders, building relationships, and spotting opportunities to generate sales growth
  • Merchandise products and maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing product displays
  • Monitor on-site stock and inventory levels, rotate and remove outdated inventory, and make replenishment recommendations
  • Act as the primary day-to-day customer service contact for accounts on the route, resolving issues or escalating to the appropriate internal team
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, route documentation, and customer communication
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of previous commercial driving experience (DOT regulated not required)
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle report
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
  • Familiarity with safety practices, securing loads, and overheard clearance awareness
  • Proficient with industrial hand trucks and two-wheel dollies
  • Strong customer-focused orientation with a high sense of urgency
  • Basic computer skills including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to crouch, grasp, and lift products above shoulders, and to lift products from the floor properly
  • Ability to exert up to 15-60 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly during equipment installs, maintenance, and removals
  • Ability to balance, reach, and grasp while climbing on a step stool or ladder
  • Visual acuity sufficient to document company records and read product labels
