The Senior Mobile App Consultant serves as the principal technical leader for Mobile Application Development, providing architecture direction, engineering leadership, senior-level development skills and technical governance across Flutter-based mobile platforms and supporting backend Java-based services. This role is responsible for establishing engineering standards, driving application architecture, hands on full stack development, promoting AI-enabled development practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing mobile solutions.
The role partners closely with Product, Architecture, Delivery, Quality Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to define technical strategy, evaluate emerging technologies, and deliver innovative digital experiences aligned with business objectives. The Senior Consultant acts as a trusted advisor, mentor, and technical leader, driving modernization initiatives and engineering excellence across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
The Senior Mobile App Consultant reports to the Director of Web and Mobile Applications to deliver robust Mobile application solutions based on best practices of Mobile Apps and AI engineering that are well aligned with the SDLC process.

  • Technical Leadership - Lead architecture and technical design for Mobile applications, Java BFF services, APIs, and enterprise integrations. Champion AI-enabled software development practices, productivity tools, and engineering automation opportunities. Provide technical direction, design approaches, and articulate Mobile delivery best practices. Oversee multiple cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to Mobile architectural standards and promote pattern reuse.

Write and review production-quality code across the stack to maintain technical credibility and ensure architectural decisions remain grounded in practical implementation realities. Leverage AI-enabled development tools to accelerate full stack delivery, improve code quality, and model efficient engineering practices for the broader team.
  • AI Enablement & Innovation - Champion adoption of AI-enabled development tools across the Mobile engineering organization to improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and elevate code quality, establishing best practices and guardrails for responsible AI-assisted development. In parallel, drive opportunities to embed AI-powered capabilities into customer-facing Mobile experiences (personalization, recommendations, conversational interfaces), partnering with Product and Architecture to evaluate feasibility and build vs. buy tradeoffs. Serve as an internal thought leader on emerging AI technologies and their impact on engineering velocity and product differentiation.
  • Architecture & Solution Design - Define Mobile platform architecture and lead technical evaluation of vendors with clear build vs. buy recommendations. Contribute to the design and rollout of our Mobile applications, enabling reuse and scalability across business solutions. Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture team to balance architectural recommendations with delivery strategy. Review and approve solution designs for alignment with enterprise guidelines, performance SLAs, and quality benchmark.
  • Observability & Operational Excellence - Establish observability standards across Mobile and backend services, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing, to enable proactive detection and resolution of performance and reliability issues. Partner with Infrastructure and Quality Engineering to build dashboards and alerting pipelines, and drive teams to build observability into design from the outset, improving reliability and reducing time to resolution.
  • Strategic Collaboration & Project Leadership - Engage with various IT teams (Business Relationship Management, Project Management, Architecture, Quality Management) during PMLC and SDLC phases. Lead estimation sessions, recommend Mobile delivery approaches, and ensure alignment with business objectives and technical constraints. Guide implementation of Mobile personalization and recommendation features in customer-facing channels. Communicate technical strategy, delivery progress, and risks to executive leadership.
  • Technical Guidance & Mentorship - Provide Mobile application and design guidance to technical staff through oversight of complex business requirements analysis.
