Job Title: Full Stack Java Engineer / ConsultantLocation-Type: Onsite – Springfield, VA (5 days/week in secure client environment)Start Date Is: September 28Duration: PermanentCompensation Range: $230,000/year 5–10% variable bonus

Job Description:Seeking a hands-on Full Stack Java Engineer to build the application layer of a secure, enterprise data platform. This individual will own development across the database, backend/middleware, APIs, and user-facing application while working directly with client stakeholders to translate mission requirements into production solutions. This is a highly autonomous role requiring strong Java/Spring development, enterprise database expertise, secure authentication, and containerized deployment experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Build full-stack enterprise applications using Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and modern frontend technologies
  • Develop user-facing applications that allow analysts to access and interact with enterprise data
  • Build middleware, REST APIs, and integrations connecting frontend applications to backend data platforms
  • Work with enterprise databases using SQL, stored procedures, schemas, and complex data models
  • Develop UI components based on business and technical requirements, including navigation, accessibility, and responsive interactions
  • Translate client requirements into technical designs and independently take solutions from concept through production
  • Implement authentication, authorization, PKI/certificate-based security, RBAC, and identity integrations
  • Deploy and support containerized applications using Docker and OpenShift/RHEL
  • Execute builds, testing, environment validation, releases, and rollback procedures within a secure, air-gapped environment
  • Troubleshoot application, database, authentication, and deployment issues independently
  • Support data-driven and predictive intelligence use cases, including analytics and streamlined analyst workflows
  • Collaborate directly with client stakeholders, architects, and cloud engineering teams
  • Demonstrate solutions, explain technical decisions, gather feedback, and iterate based on client needs
  • Maintain secure, reliable, and well-documented solutions in accordance with DevSecOps practices

Requirements:

  • Must-Haves:
    • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
    • 4–5 years of hands-on enterprise software development experience
    • Strong Java development experience
    • Strong Spring/Spring Boot experience
    • Full-stack development experience spanning database, backend, APIs, and frontend/UI
    • Enterprise database experience with SAP HANA or comparable platforms
    • Strong SQL experience, including stored procedures and data querying/manipulation
    • Experience building middleware and REST APIs
    • Frontend development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and a modern framework
    • Docker and OpenShift/RHEL deployment experience
    • Experience with PKI/certificate-based authentication, including X.509 and/or mTLS
    • Experience implementing authentication, authorization, identity integrations, and role-based access
    • Experience building, testing, deploying, and troubleshooting production applications
    • Ability to independently translate business requirements into technical solutions
    • Strong client-facing communication and consulting skills
    • U.S. Citizenship required; no dual citizenship
  • Nice-to-Haves:
