Job description

Opening / Selling Statement: Our client is seeking an Mid-Sr Level Java engineer for engineering and delivery microservices and API's to support Customer Data. The team supports various mid-layer services across the organization and to external partners and is seeking a strong Java Engineer with cloud experience.
Best qualified candidates will have strong experiences in Java 8+, Cloud, Containerization, Data Streaming, and Agile/Scrum.

Job Duties -
• Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies and lead in the delivery of the strategic roadmap.
• Help define project scope & specifications, and estimate resources required to develop the proposed solution.
• Ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development teams and monitor timelines & progress.
• Propose technical solutions.
• Delivery of well-designed, high-quality, fully functional, properly tested features, fixes, and enhancements.
• Responsible for the full application development lifecycle and support.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.
• Provide subject matter expertise and direction, guidance, and support on complex engagements.
Job Requirements -
• 5+ years experience with Java8
• 3+ years experience with Springboot
• 2+ years experience with Containers (Docker and orchestration, ie: Kubernetes or EKS or Redhat)
• Strong understanding of HTTP/REST and OpenAPI docs
• Experienced with at least one test framework (jbehave, cucumber, selenium, junit) is required
• Experienced with Agile/Scrum methodologies (backlog refinement, standups, retrospective)=
Desired Skills & Experience -
Streaming: Kafka, Kinesis, and Event Hubs are strongly desired
• Datadog or New Relic a plus
• Elastic Search a plus
• Apigee a plus
