Overview

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting technology solutions within the Accounting domain. As a hands-on engineer, you will work across the full software development lifecycle, partnering with Product Owners, Architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-performing applications.

You will contribute directly to solution design, software development, testing, deployment, and production support while helping to improve engineering standards and delivery practices across the team. The role requires strong technical expertise, a practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Success in this role will be measured by the delivery of high-quality technology solutions, system stability, and your ability to solve complex technical challenges that support business objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications within the Accounting technology landscape using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, ReactJS, SQL, and related technologies.

  • Build, enhance, and support APIs, microservices, distributed applications, and data processing solutions leveraging Spark, Hadoop, and related technologies.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to define requirements, contribute to solution architecture, and deliver effective technology solutions.

  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes to improve application stability and reliability.

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines while deploying and supporting applications on Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms.

  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of application performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

  • Lead by example through hands-on engineering, technical problem-solving, and active contribution to solution delivery.

  • Foster team success by sharing knowledge, conducting code reviews, collaborating on technical decisions, and helping unblock team members.

  • Partner closely with Architects and Product Owners to design and deliver practical, scalable solutions that align with business requirements.

Skills You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, with strong software engineering fundamentals and modern development practices.

  • Extensive hands-on development experience building enterprise applications, APIs, and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, ReactJS, SQL, and PL/SQL.

  • Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift), and CI/CD pipelines supporting scalable, resilient applications.

  • Experience working with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and BigQuery, alongside Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and similar database technologies.

  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning capabilities, with experience working in Agile software development environments.

  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Accounting, Finance, or Banking technology experience.

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-based application development.

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms.

  • Experience supporting business-critical production applications.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $185,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
