Job description

What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Plan, develop and integrate electronic vehicle commissioning concepts for underlying cross-functional technologies e.g. Software flashing, ECU configuration, Immobilizer systems, secured vehicle diagnostic functions. 
  • Ensure the end-to-end functionality including in-vehicle technologies and necessary backend systems. 
  • Coordinate commissioning, planning project concept scope, timeline constraints in pre-series and series phase. 
  • Representative for production concept changes within project teams. 
  • Monitor and track technical changes for central vehicle diagnostics, security, and architectures throughout the development and launch process. 
  • Coordinate the integration for commissioning concepts for process planning into the production. 
  • Evaluate and enhance vehicle commissioning concepts that produce exceptional quality, reduce cost, and improve production cycle time. 
  • Develop and coordinate commissioning documents using IT systems in production. 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's/ master's degree in automotive technology, electrical engineering or computer science or equivalent field. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.  
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience in automotive development, manufacturing engineering, production planning, vehicle diagnostics, or related technical areas. 
  • Proficiency in advanced programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java or similar 
  • Knowledge of vehicle engineering processes and understanding of manufacturing processes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance and support cross-functional alignment.  
  • Demonstrated ability in creative and strategic problem-solving, with experience troubleshooting vehicle systems. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment. 
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
