Summary
The Senior Application Developer is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting scalable web applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based solutions. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software that meets business objectives while adhering to established architecture, security, and development standards. The Senior Application Developer provides technical leadership through solution design, code reviews, mentoring, and adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development tools. Supporting technologies used within the organization include Java, Spring Boot, React, Angular, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and enterprise integration platforms.
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications, APIs, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable application designs.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and integration services supporting internal and external business partners.
  • Build modern user interfaces using React and Angular frameworks.
  • Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Implement cloud-native solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Participate in application architecture, technical design reviews, and solution planning sessions.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, security requirements, and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Support production applications by troubleshooting incidents, resolving defects, and implementing enhancements.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, accessibility, and software development lifecycle standards.
  • Evaluate and leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and similar technologies to improve development productivity and code quality.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and retrospectives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and implementation guides.

Required Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of application development experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing enterprise web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Experience with React and/or Angular.
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with source control systems, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
