About the Role
As a Senior Full Stack Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications that support critical business operations. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance teams, architects, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
In This Role, You Will:
  • Develop and maintain full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
  • Design, build, and enhance scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
  • Create responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces that deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application quality and reliability.
  • Support production deployments and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to performance optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Model

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
  • 8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Java-based enterprise applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience building modern web applications using Angular.
  • Solid understanding of Core Java, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile development environment.

These Will Help You Stand Out
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
  • Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging and event streaming technologies.
  • Exposure to Scala development.
  • Experience working in Scrum or Agile software delivery environments.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
