Job Summary:
ShiftCode Analytics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java to lead initiatives and deliverables within technical domains. The role involves designing, coding, testing, and debugging projects while collaborating with peers to resolve technical challenges and guide less experienced staff.
Responsibilities:
• Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients' needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7+ years of Java Version 11 and later functional programming experience
• 2+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent
• Enterprise Applications experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java fundamentals, data structures, and object-oriented programming
• Experience with Java frameworks, such as Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, and Java EE
• Proficiency in database management systems like Oracle.
• Experience with Microservices architecture and design patterns like MVC, Structural etc.
• Front end development experience using languages such as Angular, Node.js or React
• Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, or DevOps
• Experience with cloud-based platforms like PCF, GCP, AWS or Azure
• Working knowledge on container applications like Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions
Preferred:
• 2+years of Oracle DB experience
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience with data streaming technologies and use cases
• Knowledge and understanding of test-driven application development
• 2+ years of experience in designing and engineering cloud native solutions
• 2+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments
• 2+ years of Agile experience
• 2+ years of JIRA experience
• 2+ years of using confluence.
• Experience with Performance Tuning, Scaling, Security, Resiliency Best Practices
• Enterprise experience with one or more CI/CD implementation, configuration management and orchestration tools: Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, GitHub Actions, Harness
• Experience with one or more Test Frameworks, Capabilities & Tools: Junit, TestNG, Selenium; Test Driven Development (TDD); Behavioral Driven Development (BDD): Cucumber/Gherkin
• Working in Card Payments domain is a plus
