Job description

Ready to turn your classroom knowledge into real-world experience? At OTC, being an Applications Engineering Co-op means working alongside experienced engineers to help develop solutions that meet customer needs while gaining valuable hands-on experience in industrial engineering. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, build your technical skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that support customers across a variety of industries.

Location: On site at Fleetwood Facility - 11 Creek Pkwy, Boothwyn, PA 19061

* This is an in-person position, and candidates are expected to have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist Applications Engineers with evaluating customer requirements and developing technical solutions.
  • Support the preparation of CAD drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), technical documentation, and application reports.
  • Learn to interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations teams to support ongoing customer projects.
  • Participate in product selection, equipment sizing, and engineering calculations under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical issues and researching product solutions.
  • Gain exposure to customer interactions, project meetings, and site visits as opportunities arise.
  • Learn and apply engineering principles, industry standards, and company processes.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong interest in mechanical systems, rotating equipment, manufacturing, or industrial applications.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings and CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple assignments.
  • Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and apply classroom knowledge in a hands-on setting.
  • Previous internship, co-op, or hands-on mechanical experience is a plus but not required.
