What does a Japanese teacher do?

As a Japanese teacher, your job is to teach students how to speak, read, and write fluent Japanese. The specifics of this job vary by the age and experience level of students. Japanese teachers teaching at colleges and universities often teach all levels of the language, but teachers working with K-12 students usually focus on basic skills. You can also teach online instead of in a classroom. Regardless of the level of the students, you use a wide variety of teaching methodologies to help your students learn, explain Japanese literature and culture, administer proficiency-based assessments, and help produce teaching materials. Most Japanese teachers work for schools, but you can also work with private companies to help employees quickly learn the language skills they need to work overseas.

What does a Japanese teacher do?

A Japanese teacher is responsible for teaching the Japanese language to students, which may include speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. To address this, teachers typically differentiate instruction by using a mix of group activities, individualized assignments, and scaffolded materials to ensure all students are engaged and progressing. Collaboration with other language teachers and utilizing technology-based resources can also help tailor lessons and offer additional support.
