Job description

Omron Inspection Systems Division is seeking an energetic application engineer to be part of a dynamic team and work alongside advanced technology. The AE role is responsible for the dedicated support of Omron's automated inspection solutions (SPI, AOI & AXI). This position is located at our Dallas, Texas location and is non-remote.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain an extensive knowledge base of the Omron inspection solution portfolio, quality standards, and industry insights (as in-house expert)
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of equipment operation and programming
  • Assist customers with equipment decisions, questions & technical discussions
  • Assist the sales team with demonstrations & evaluations (technical sales role)
  • Assist the sales team with specific, strategic sales & promotional activities
  • Assist the sales team with industry and trade-show events
  • Perform equipment installation, service, support & calibration activities
  • Provide remote, phone and on-site customer support
  • Train customers and team members on technology-related topics
  • Assist with the design and implementation of training materials
  • Crosstrain on each Omron inspection solution product category (SPI, AOI & AXI)
  • Perform any other activities assigned by management
  • Represents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, customers, distributors, and colleagues
  • Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFCATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited four-year institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
  • Experience: 4+ years of SMT-manufacturing related experience (inspection-focused role preferred) with capital equipment support experience and strong troubleshooting skills.
