Japanese Speaking Mechanical Engineer

Schaumburg, IL

Our client is hiring a Japanese Speaking Mechanical Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Japanese Speaking Mechanical Engineer

  • Design new fixtures and jigs using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor or other CAD system.
  • Be responsible for cost reductions and methods improvements in a manufacturing setting.
  • Learn if necessary and apply Toyota Production Systems such as one-piece flow, takt time reduction, kanban and workcell development.
  • Develop facility layouts to allow for productivity gains and effective space utilization.
  • Use your bilingual Japanese speaking skills to serve as a liaison with the corporate team in Tokyo, Japan.

Requirements of the Japanese Speaking Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or other engineering discipline.
  • Fluency in the Japanese language as well as fluency in the English language is required.
  • MS Word and MS Excel is a plus.
  • 1 to 10 years of experience is preferred.
  • 10% travel with potential travel to Japan if necessary

Compensation for the Japanese Speaking Mechanical Engineer

The targeted annual starting salary for this position ranges from $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 depending on experience.
