Essential Duties and Responsibilities  (Other duties may be assigned):
·         Processing, cutting, and wrapping Bakery items 

·         Maintains a well-organized back stock/cooler area

·         Packaging our food products

·         Food Preparation

·         Maintains good communication with store management, associates and suppliers/vendors

·         Fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
·         Assure proper displaying and selling of all  Bakery to customers and advise customers on healthy food and answering customer questions.
·         Responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of the Bakery back room and front displays.
·         Follow the employee handbook at all times, especially on service standards and appearance.
·         At all times, meet and/or exceed the Tokyo Central store standards in service, quality, and cleanliness.

Customer Service:

·         Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions

·         Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques

·         Meets or exceeds Department’s sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and procedures

·         Maintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor

·         Ensures a safe and clean work environment

·         Cross Training: 

·         Store Support Associates exemplify teamwork and are open to and willing to be trained and step in when needed in all departments and similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred 
  • Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment.
  • Must be able to use job related equipment such as slicer, scale, saw, knife and wrapper
  • No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Deli Clerk experience is preferred 
  • Possess a CA Food Handling license or the ability to acquire one
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without aid
  • Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aides necessary to perform job duties. Hands are in frequent contact with water, vegetables, deli, and sushi meat while performing job duties.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Comfortable with working in a kitchen and office environment
  • Must be able to operate related equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks and hand trucks
    Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
  • Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
  • Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from the general public and management
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Has or willing to obtain a CA Food Handler's Certificate
