Chicago, IL
Pay Rate COE: $16.00 - $17.00 PH
Multiple PT/FT Positions Available:
Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Monday - Friday from 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Monday - Friday from 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
*Weekends Required for ALL Shifts*
Duties of Janitor Position:
Duties of the janitor position will vary by location and will be performed as assigned by the Manager.
Specific duties a janitor may include but are not limited to:
  • Clean building floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
  • Vacuum carpets, spot clean, shampoo, and extract on an assigned basis.
  • Dust furniture, blinds, and surfaces; monitor and maintain interior plants.
  • Service, clean, and disinfect restrooms; restock soap and paper dispensers.
  • Clean interior and exterior windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
  • Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment use to prevent damage.
  • Monitor building security, and lock doors after operating hours.
  • Notify managers of major repairs or additions to building systems.
  • Set up and arrange furniture and equipment for events.
  • Perform waste removal and proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
  • Drive vehicles (vans, industrial trucks) for cleaning work or travel.
  • Record supply inventory, and notify management when supplies are low.
  • Notify the manager of needed supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance.
  • Remove snow by doors and spread snow-melting chemicals.
  • Work various shifts and schedules; perform other assigned duties.

Requirements:
  • Grade school level (communication skills).
  • Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
  • Lift up to 51 pounds, walk, sit, climb, bend, and work flexible schedules.
  • Majority of the shift on feet; repetitive motions.
  • Effective communication with the Manager.
  • Work scheduled shifts, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Flexibility in location and schedules.
  • Reliable, responsible, good attendance.
  • Collaborative team player.

Experience:
  • Required: Basic cleaning understanding, trainable, and ability to follow instructions.
  • *Required: One to Two years of janitorial experience.*
  • Familiarity with vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, shampooing equipment, mops, and cleaning chemicals.
