Job description

Job Summary:


The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the routine care and maintenance of the Moapa Band of Paiutes facilities, including performing custodial, grounds keeping, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and cleaning in a safe, orderly, and secure manner to ensure the continued appearance of the Moapa Band of Paiutes facilities.

Duties:

  1. Performs general building maintenance and custodial duties.
  2. Sweeps and cleans floors and working areas, picks up papers and rubbish from grounds.
  3. Makes minor building related repairs.
  4. Performs minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, and cleaning.
  5. Replaces light fixtures, bulbs, HV/AC filters, damaged doors, locks, and repairs leaky faucets.
  6. Vacuums and dusts office areas daily.
  7. Dispose of waste from offices and containers both inside and outside.
  8. Cleans and sanitizes restroom areas, disinfects toilets, urinals, and sinks.
  9. Spot cleans walls, and waxes, buffs and cleans floors.
  10. Washes windows on both the inside and outside.
  11. Moves equipment and furniture when performing cleaning activities.
  12. Performs periodic inspections of buildings and makes recommendations on needed repairs.
  13. Sweeps walkways to remove debris and rakes and removes fallen leaves.
  14. Support the outside landscape maintenance as assigned or requested.
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate power, hand power, and maintenance equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions of supervisor.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
