Your impact

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical infrastructure and construction challenges. We are seeking a site-based Project Engineer to join our Buildings & Infrastructure team in San Francisco, California, supporting the delivery of complex, multi-phased capital projects in an active client environment.

As a key member of our Program Management Construction Management (PMCM) team, you'll be embedded at the client site, partnering with project managers, construction managers, contractors, design professionals, and operational stakeholders to help drive successful project outcomes. This role is ideal for an organized, technically proficient professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys bridging field execution with project controls, documentation, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain project records, logs, meeting minutes, and action items.
  • Support constructability reviews and resolution of field issues.
  • Track project progress, schedule milestones, and field activities.
  • Assist with cost control, change management, and pay application reviews.
  • Support document control using Procore, Bluebeam, Unifier, P6, and related tools.
  • Help coordinate inspections, punch lists, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of experience supporting construction or engineering projects; healthcare, lab, research facilities or higher education.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction documentation and processes, with the ability to read & review drawings, interpret specifications, assess technical requirements and coordinate project execution activities.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction tools (Procore, Bluebeam, P6, Unifier, MS Project, Excel, Kahua (etc.).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ideally, Youโ€™ll Also Have

  • Experience working on active, occupied campuses or highly regulated environments.

The base salary range for this position is $90,300.00 to $124,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
