What is an IV therapy?

An IV Therapy job involves administering intravenous (IV) fluids, medications, and nutrients to patients. Healthcare professionals in this role, such as nurses or IV technicians, are responsible for inserting IV lines, monitoring patients for reactions, and ensuring proper hydration and medication delivery. They work in hospitals, clinics, infusion centers, and sometimes provide at-home care. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of venipuncture, and patient care skills are essential for success in this field.

What does an IV therapy specialist do?

Professionals in IV Therapy are responsible for starting and monitoring intravenous lines, preparing and administering IV medications and fluids, and assessing patients for any complications during therapy. They also document all procedures and patient responses, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other nursing staff to ensure appropriate care. Depending on the healthcare setting, you may also provide patient education about IV therapy and troubleshoot any equipment or infusion-related issues. This role often involves working with a variety of patients, requiring adaptability and efficient time management throughout the shift.

What skills and qualifications are needed for IV therapy?

To thrive in IV Therapy, a healthcare professional typically needs a valid nursing license (such as RN or LPN), a solid understanding of venipuncture techniques, and hands-on experience with intravenous medication administration. Competence with infusion pumps, IV catheters, and electronic health record (EHR) systems is necessary, along with up-to-date certifications like IV Therapy Certification or Basic Life Support (BLS). Strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to communicate clearly with both patients and interdisciplinary teams are essential soft skills. These competencies ensure accurate medication delivery, patient safety, and effective coordination within clinical settings.

Are IV therapy nurses in demand?

IV therapy nurses are in high demand due to the increasing need for intravenous treatments in hospitals, clinics, and outpatient settings. They require specialized skills, certifications, and often work in fast-paced environments, contributing to steady employment opportunities.

Do you need a license to do iv therapy?

Yes, IV therapy practitioners typically need to be licensed or certified, depending on state or local regulations. Requirements often include completing specific training, such as a nursing or medical assistant program, and obtaining relevant licensure or certification before performing IV therapy. Regulations vary by jurisdiction, so it is important to check local licensing boards for specific requirements.

Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Join Us in Transforming Wellness Care

About Us

Live Hydration Spa is a distinguished medical wellness practice offering IV therapy, hormone optimization, medical weight loss, peptide therapy, and advanced recovery services. As we expand across two thriving locations, we remain intentional about one thing above all: the caliber of the people we bring alongside us. Every nurse on our team completes a rigorous, comprehensive clinical and hospitality curriculum, because we believe extraordinary care is cultivated — never assumed. Our standards are drawn from the most respected service organizations in the world, and we honor them in every client interaction, every day.

The Opportunity

This role is central to the future of our practice, and we are thoughtful and deliberate about who joins us.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse who leads with an ownership mindset — a clinician who embraces full responsibility for the client experience, anticipates needs before they arise, elevates everyone around them, and regards the success of the practice as inseparable from their own. In return, you will be entrusted with genuine autonomy, meaningful influence, and a seat at the table as we grow. If you have been waiting for a role where excellence is recognized, developed, and rewarded, we would be honored to meet you.

We will be candid: this position asks more than most.

Some nurses eventually reach a point where they realize they’re no longer searching for another job—they’re searching for a calling. They’re longing for something beyond transactional work, beyond rushed appointments, endless documentation, and feeling like just another employee. They want to know their patients, continue growing professionally, practice with intention, and be part of something bigger than themselves. If that sounds like you, you may have found your professional home.

We offer a wide range of modalities to help clients achieve optimal wellness, including:

  • IV therapy and IM nutraceutical injections
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
  • Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF)
  • Ionic detox foot baths
  • Weight management and metabolic support
  • Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy
  • Acute sick care support
  • Nutrient optimization and alternative pathways for treating chronic illness

What You’ll Own

• Delivery of IV therapy, IM injections, and vitamin therapies executed with impeccable safety and flawless aseptic technique

• Comprehensive client assessments, health history reviews, and contraindication screening for every service, without exception

• Client success across our weight loss, hormone optimization, and peptide therapy programs — encompassing injection education, attentive follow-up, and long-term guidance

• Consultative expertise across our complete service menu, thoughtfully aligning clients with the memberships and programs that genuinely serve their goals

• The client experience in its entirety: anticipating needs, personalizing every visit, and cultivating the enduring relationships that inspire retention and referrals

• Confident operation of and education on our recovery modalities, including PEMF and compression therapy

• Meticulous documentation, inventory accountability, and immaculate, fully compliant treatment environments

• Complete command of our clinical curriculum and competency standards, paired with an ongoing commitment to raising the bar

What You Bring

• Active, unencumbered South Carolina RN license (or compact license)

• Current BLS certification

• Near-perfect IV insertion proficiency

• Experience in IV therapy, med spa, infusion, emergency, or aesthetics nursing strongly preferred

• Polished, articulate communication and a warm, poised professional presence

• A consultative approach to client education — compelling through expertise, never through pressure

• A demonstrated record of initiative and leadership — we want to hear how you have made an organization better, not simply worked within one

Compensation & Benefits

• Commensurate with experience

• Performance-based bonus potential

• Health insurance

• 401(k)

• Paid time off

• Structured paid training

• Employee discounts on services

• Genuine advancement opportunity as we scale across multiple locations

Schedule: Full-Time

Location: Fort Mill, SC & Indian Land, SC

To Apply: Alongside your resume, share why you want this opportunity and give a brief account of a time you took ownership of something that was not formally your responsibility. Your answer will matter to us as much as your credentials.
