IV Techs, or Intravenous Technicians, are healthcare professionals who specialize in preparing and administering intravenous (IV) medications and fluids to patients. They work under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians, ensuring that IV lines are properly inserted, maintained, and monitored. IV Techs are often responsible for mixing medications, setting up IV equipment, and observing patients for any adverse reactions. Their work is essential in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings, contributing to patient care and safety.

What are some common challenges an IV Tech may face during a typical shift, and how can they be managed?

IV Techs often encounter challenges such as accurately preparing sterile IV solutions under tight deadlines and managing multiple medication requests simultaneously.
