At Lakeview Hospital, we are committed to providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate care to our patients. We are seeking a dedicated Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse to join our team and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Position Summary
Interventional Radiology RNs (IR RNs) are involved with the assessment, planning, and care of patients who undergo Interventional Radiology procedures. The IR RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting and managing sedation cases across radiology and are responsible for vascular access (PICC and peripheral IV) throughout the hospital.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by providing ongoing education to the patient and to the family members
  • Delegate tasks appropriately within scope of practice and perform necessary follow-up
Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate patient status, changes, and critical information through proper hand-off and escalation channels
  • Ensure continuity of care by reporting key updates (e.g., assessments, lab results, intake/output, patient concerns)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
  • Seek guidance or assistance when needed to ensure safe and effective care
Quality & Patient Experience
  • Support performance improvement initiatives, including infection control and quality assurance standards
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission)
  • Promote a positive patient experience through effective communication and service recovery
  • Anticipate and respond to patient needs promptly
  • Contribute to a team-oriented environment by assisting colleagues as needed
Qualifications
  • Current Louisiana RN license or temporary permit
  • Interventional Radiology RN Experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Additional Certifications (as applicable by department):
  • MICU: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Oncology (Med/Surg, Clinic, Infusion, etc.): Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification (within 2 years of hire)
  • Perioperative Nursing: Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) or equivalent certification
