Job description

A rapidly growing general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to take ownership of commercial and general construction projects while working with a growing organization that is expanding its project portfolio.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion, with proven experience overseeing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, clients, and project teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and general construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Take overall responsibility for project budgets, schedules, contracts, and successful delivery.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, consultants, architects, engineers, and internal project teams.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules while proactively identifying and resolving potential delays.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments, billing, and overall financial performance.
  • Lead regular project meetings and maintain clear communication with owners, clients, design teams, and trade partners.
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and workmanship.
  • Manage the change order process and assist with contract administration.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support project closeout, punch list completion, final documentation, and turnover.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience, ideally within commercial or general construction.
  • Proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, contracts, budgets, and cost control.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple project stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with construction project management and scheduling software.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
