Easterseals Florida is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist (ITDS) Evaluator to conduct developmental evaluations for infants and toddlers (birth to age three) referred to the Early Steps program under IDEA Part C. This role plays a critical part in helping families access the early intervention services their child needs to thrive.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct developmental evaluations using the Battelle Developmental Inventory (BDI-2) or other approved tools to determine Early Steps eligibility
  • Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary evaluation team and follow eligibility criteria outlined in the Early Steps Program Plan and Operations Guide (PHOG)
  • Serve as a participating member of each child’s Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) Team
  • Recommend appropriate early intervention services—based on peer-reviewed research—to meet each child’s unique developmental needs, including frequency, intensity, and duration
  • Provide timely, accurate written documentation for each evaluation and service provided
  • Attend staff meetings, IFSP planning conferences, and trainings as requested
  • Deliver early intervention services to enrolled children
  • Submit all clinic and billing documentation promptly

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university, plus 1–2 years of related experience or training
  • Florida Certification as an Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist (ITDS)
  • Florida Medicaid Therapy and/or Early Intervention Provider Number
  • NPI Number
  • Confirmation of enrollment in the CMS Provider Management System
  • Strong documentation, time-management, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates integrity, tact, sound judgment, flexibility, and commitment to high-quality practices
  • Commitment to teamwork and to supporting families with empathy and professionalism.
  • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, for program-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
