Description:

 About WLS Stamping

WLS Stamping is a metal stamping and fabrication company operating multiple manufacturing plants. We're looking for a hands-on IT Support Specialist to keep our systems, network, and end users running smoothly across our facilities.

We're seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide on-site technology support across multiple plant locations. This role is the front line for help desk requests, physical IT setup, and network/system troubleshooting — you'll be the person people call when a workstation won't boot, a printer won't connect, or a plant's network drops. You'll split your time between locations (travel between sites required), working independently to keep each plant's IT running with minimal downtime.

Requirements:

Help Desk & End User Support

• Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support requests across assigned plant locations; troubleshoot hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues

• Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner, prioritizing based on urgency and production impact

• Provide support to office staff, production supervisors, and plant floor personnel

• Provide basic training to end users on standard software tools and IT best practices

Physical IT Set up & Hardware

• Set up, image, and deploy desktops, laptops, tablets, handheld scanners, and mobile devices for new hires and equipment refreshes

• Install and configure printers, monitors, docking stations, and other peripherals

• Run and terminate network cabling, and install/configure network switches, wireless access points, and related hardware as needed

• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets across all supported plants

  Network & System Support

• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (wired and wireless) across plant locations

• Monitor network and system performance; escalate and resolve outages affecting production or office operations

• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access (Active Directory / Microsoft 365 or equivalent)

• Support business applications used across plants, including ERP/MRP systems for production scheduling, inventory, and quality

• Assist with coordinating connectivity for shop-floor systems (production equipment networking, data collection terminals) in partnership with engineering/maintenance teams

• Apply security patches and updates; follow IT security policies and procedures across all sites

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar technical support role preferred.

• Working knowledge of Windows desktop environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365

• Experience troubleshooting network fundamentals (switches, routers, Wi-Fi, VPN, basic TCP/IP)

• Comfortable performing physical setup work: running cable, mounting equipment, deploying hardware

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly between plant locations

• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to prioritize across multiple sites and competing requests

• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision

• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical staff

• Experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or industrial environment

• Experience supporting ERP/MRP systems

• Familiarity with shop-floor/OT networking considerations

  Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Regular travel between multiple plant locations Highland Heights ( home location), and Cleveland.

• Time split between office environments and active production floor areas

• Must be comfortable wearing required PPE when on the production floor

• Ability to lift and carry IT equipment (up to 40 lbs) and perform physical setup tasks (cabling, mounting, moving equipment)

• Exposure to machinery noise and industrial environments while on plant floors
