We are seeking an IT System Analyst I to join our team and support our client.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented IT and data professional with experience supporting report automation, database and data-management initiatives, systems analysis, and business-process improvement. The candidate will work with stakeholders and technical teams to analyze requirements, improve workflows, document processes, support testing, and help implement reporting and data solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support report automation, data operations, IT systems analysis, and technical initiatives.
  • Gather, analyze, validate, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Assess existing workflows and business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, data quality, and usability.
  • Support the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of automated reports, dashboards, data-processing solutions, and system integrations.
  • Use Python, Java, SQL, Tableau, and front-end web technologies to support data processing, database queries, dashboard development, reporting, and web-based functionality.
  • Coordinate with client stakeholders and technical teams to implement approved technical and process improvements.
  • Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures, workflow documentation, system documentation, and technical artifacts aligned with federal best practices.
  • Support test planning, test-case development, test execution, test-result documentation, and defect or enhancement tracking.
  • Support database and data-management activities, including data analysis, data validation, reporting, and operational support.
  • Assist with documenting data flows, business rules, reporting requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Respond to COR problem-resolution requests within 24 hours of notification.
  • Complete required DHS security, privacy, and Rules of Behavior training.

Work Experience and Job Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in IT systems analysis, requirements gathering, business-process analysis, workflow improvement, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting report automation, data operations, database or data-management initiatives, and analytical reporting environments.
  • Working knowledge of Python, Java, SQL, Tableau, and front-end web technologies.
  • Experience using SQL for database querying, data retrieval, data analysis, and reporting support.
  • Experience supporting dashboard development, data visualization, reporting, and data-processing activities.
  • Ability to translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements, workflow documentation, and actionable technical recommendations.
  • Experience supporting system testing, issue tracking, defect resolution, and implementation of technical or process improvements.
  • Familiarity with federal IT, data-management, privacy, security, and documentation practices is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, client-facing environment.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Preferred field of study includes Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • MBA or Master's Degree in a relevant field of study is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
  • Certifications in business analysis, data analytics, database technologies, Tableau, Python, cloud technologies, Agile, or related IT disciplines are preferred.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile, Scrum, or comparable process-improvement certifications are preferred.

Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present requirements, workflow findings, system information, reports, and performance data to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Comfortable working with federal stakeholders, technical teams, business users, and Contractor personnel.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, accurate, and confidential technical, process, and operational documentation.

Clearance Requirements
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance.

Travel
  • This position is remote.
  • Travel is not anticipated; however, limited travel may be required based on client needs.

Environmental Requirements
  • Mainly a routine office environment.
  • May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
