STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANT- Part-Time
HAROLD WASHINGTON COLLEGE
CITY COLLEGES OF CHICAGO

Harold Washington College is Seeking a Temporary Student Research Assistant - PT. City Colleges of Chicago's vision is to be recognized as the city's most accessible higher education engine of socioeconomic mobility and racial equity - empowering all Chicagoans to take part in building a stronger and more just city. The community college system's more than 3,500 faculty and staff serve more than 60,000 students annually at seven colleges and five satellite sites.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent, and eligible to work in the United States
- Applicants must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago
- Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours pre-credit or credit classes
- Applicants must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate
- Applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first semester new students)
- Applicants must be in "good standing" - no City Colleges of Chicago academic restrictions
- Applicants must not be current Full or Part-time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago
- All positions are "employment at-will"
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Under the direction of the assigned supervising faculty mentor, performs duties in support of a defined research project, such as literature review, field work, and laboratory experiments.
  2. Prepares scientific reports and presentations.
  3. Attends mandatory meetings and workshops.
  4. Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Service Excellence Standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
