Information Technology - Software Engineer (Scrum Master)
Location: Orlando, FL 32825 (Onsite > 50% required)
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required
About the Role
Join an innovative tech team as a Scrum Master, playing a pivotal role in driving agile transformation and operational excellence. You'll guide high-performing agile teams, facilitate collaboration, and ensure the successful delivery of software engineering projects in a secure, mission-driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals seeking to lead, influence, and grow within a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead 1-2 agile teams through all phases of operational baseline updates using Scrum methodology
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Champion Agile principles and foster best practices within teams and across the organization
- Partner with Product Owners to prioritize and maintain a well-groomed backlog
- Communicate project status, risks, and critical issues to stakeholders clearly and proactively
- Track team performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify and eliminate impediments to ensure team progress and efficiency
- Maintain progress transparency using burndown charts, dashboards, and other radiators
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, reporting standards, and security protocols
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 15 years in IT, software, fullstack, or systems engineering, with direct experience on engineering teams
- Certified Scrum Master
- Demonstrated expertise using Jira for agile project management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Active Secret Clearance (mandatory)
- Local to Orlando and able to work onsite more than 50% of the time
Preferred Skills
- Experience in government or defense environments
- Advanced knowledge of software development life cycles
- Familiarity with compliance and security requirements in regulated industries
