Job description

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sourcing Specialist - IT. In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with Medical Center IT Missions (MCIT), IT Finance, Legal, and Vendor leadership to ensure alignment with NYU's goals and objectives, emphasizing quality, innovation, competitiveness, efficiencies, and cost savings. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of different licensing models and software sourcing strategies. The candidate will play a critical role in analyzing spend data, performing market analysis, and leading the end-to-end RFx process. While the ideal candidate will meet all of the above requirements, candidates with a strong IT sourcing background will also be considered. IT Software Sourcing Specialist will report to Software Sourcing Manager.

Job Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing Planning:
  • Contribute to development of annual and multi-year sourcing strategies and plans.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand current and future software needs in IT Software.
  • Lead end to end, IT Software sourcing projects (7 Step Strategic Sourcing Process).
Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key Software vendors.
  • Collaborate with project owners to identify any vendor-related performance issues.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
  • Lead contract and commercial negotiations with IT Software vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements.
Market Analysis:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging software technologies.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
Cost Management:
  • Work closely with finance and other departments to manage and optimize costs related to IT Software and Cloud.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements to meet/exceed the annual savings targets.
Risk Management:
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with IT Software category, ensuring business continuity and compliance with policies, procedures, and contracting principles, regulations.
  • Examine and interpret business needs pertaining to cloud and on-premises services.
  • Carry out all supplier due diligence as required.
  • Takes ownership for sourcing issues and actively participates in their resolution.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on sourcing initiatives and performance.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in strategic IT sourcing.
  • Competence in core Procurement skills; Stakeholder Management, Supplier Management and Performance, Market Analysis, Negotiations, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration, negotiation, organizational, and multitasking skills; Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or other recognized certification is a plus.
Benefits and Salary

NYU Langone Health provides its staff with a comprehensive benefits and wellness package. Salary range for the role is $84,577.92 - $89,250.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
