Overview

The Electric Boat Information Technology Project Management Office (EBIT PMO) is responsible for managing IT projects, programs, and portfolios across the Electric Boat enterprise. The EBIT PMO provides governance for project, program, and portfolio management processes and best practices, monitors performance of projects, programs, and portfolios, drives project delivery, and performs strategic planning to maximize business value.

The EBIT PMO is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the EBIT PMO Team as a Portfolio Lead - Infrastructure Portfolio.

The Portfolio Lead oversees a collection of IT projects and programs to ensure they align with company goals. They prioritize initiatives, manage budgets and risks, and allocate resources across multiple projects. This position will oversee the IT Infrastructure Portfolio which includes all of EBIT's infrastructure projects involving Networking, Datacenter, Cloud, Servers, etc.

Responsibilities of the IT Portfolio Lead include:

    Portfolio Management: Track the progress, schedules, and overall performance of the entire project portfolio.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure selected projects and programs align to overall business objectives and strategies.
  • Project Selection & Prioritization: Evaluate and select projects based on defined criteria.
  • Resource Allocation/Management: Oversee allocation and optimization of resources across the portfolio.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and identify potential risks to the portfolio and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular, concise reports on portfolio status, performance, benefits, and challenges.
  • Governance & Decision Making: Provide recommendations for continuing, modifying, or discontinuing projects within the portfolio.
  • Portfolio Metrics: Maintain Portfolio-Level metrics, KPIs, and dashboards.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of direct project or program management experience, with at least 3 years overseeing multiple projects concurrently
  • Previous experience in Portfolio or Program Management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance through the Department of Defense

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO)
  • 5+ years of direct IT project or program management experience working with IT software development and/or IT infrastructure teams
  • Previous experience in IT Portfolio Management including selecting, prioritizing and scheduling projects
  • PMP or PfMP Certification
Skills
  • Must have strong problem solving, analytical, and conflict resolution skills
  • Must have proven ability to drive teams while being results focused
  • Must have stakeholder management skills
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must have proven project management and portfolio management skills
  • Must be capable of influencing leadership, PMO teams, and peers while working alongside and achieving shared goals and objectives
