Position Title: IT Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for acting as the primary liaison between groups and factory operations, leading the support, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plant IT infrastructure, equipment, and systems. Manage daily IT operations to ensure system reliability, network performance, cybersecurity compliance, and uninterrupted manufacturing support.

Lead initiatives involving IT administration, network and server management, system integration, operational technology (OT) support, and project delivery. Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with production requirements, improve operational efficiency, and support business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in IT management, network administration, systems integration, cybersecurity and project management, with a strong foundation in manufacturing or industrial environments and the ability to lead both strategic initiatives and hands-on operational support.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT and manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment of IT services with business and production objectives.
  • Support and implement IT strategies, policies, system upgrades, installations, and migrations to improve infrastructure performance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and support day-to-day IT operations at the manufacturing site, including user support, data maintenance, access permissions, and troubleshooting for computers, printers, scanners, and related equipment.
  • Support IT service delivery across American factory operations, ensuring stable, secure, and reliable support for plant users and production systems.
  • Monitor and support factory networks, servers, dashboards, and connected systems, providing timely troubleshooting and resolution of system exceptions.
  • Support digital factory initiatives, including new workshops, production lines, and technical innovation projects, through system integration, deployment, and operational support.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support industrial software and systems, including MES, SAP, WMS, AI and related manufacturing applications.
  • Partner with production and engineering teams to identify process gaps, support continuous improvement initiatives, and align system solutions with operational changes.
  • Support change management activities by documenting change requests, coordinating approvals, and participating in SIT and UAT testing for system enhancements.
  • Lead or support IT projects from planning through deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals, technical requirements, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors, and service providers for equipment deployment, network connectivity, procurement, and external service support.
  • Support management of IT assets, develop user training materials including SOPs and Q&A documentation, and provide end-user training for business and production systems.
  • Support and help develop junior IT personnel through training, knowledge sharing, and operational guidance to strengthen service delivery and project execution.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls to protect company systems, data, and network infrastructure.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of plant IT infrastructure, operational technology (OT), and service processes to enhance reliability, performance, and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • BS in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or related fields. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing plant environment. Experience in manufacturing/quality/warehousing/logistics IT projects (e.g., SAP, MES, QMS or WMS) is must.
  • Proficiency in multi-server network environments (Microsoft/Linux), LAN/WAN, Fiber optic and Cisco networking, database, SQL, VMware Vsphere/Microsoft HyperV and Thin client multi-user applications.
  • Experience with the manufacturing processes and engineering in industries like PV solar and electronics
  • Strong communication abilities, exceptional analytical skills, and adaptability to handle work pressure and provide excellent service.
  • Fluent in both Chinese and English is must, suitable for use as working languages.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific IT requirements and regulations is a plus.
  • Requires on-site to work under tight schedule to support 24x7 production.
  • Based at the manufacturing site, with occasional travel to support the other sites.
  • Flexibility to change the base site across North America as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
