Job description

This Opportunity

WSP is seeking a Technology Infrastructure Lead to support the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Project Management Team. This is a full-time, in-person position.

The Technology Infrastructure Lead is a Technology & Digital Experience (TDE) role dedicated to supporting Planning & Development capital projects through technical coordination, infrastructure integration, design review, construction support, and implementation readiness activities. The position serves as the primary interface between TDE and project delivery teams, helping identify technology-related risks, infrastructure conflicts, constructability concerns, operational impacts, and implementation requirements throughout planning, design, construction, testing, and turnover. The role is intended to strengthen project delivery by providing technically informed review and coordination while ensuring alignment with TDE standards, operational requirements, and long-term supportability. Final technical authority, standards, approvals, cybersecurity requirements, and ownership of technology systems remain the responsibility of TDE.

Your Impact

Project Planning and Technology Integration

  • Participate in project initiation and planning meetings.
  • Identify technology-related scope, dependencies, infrastructure requirements, and operational impacts.
  • Coordinate engagement of TDE SMEs throughout project development.
  • Identify long-lead technology components and infrastructure dependencies that may affect project schedules.

Design Review and Technical Coordination

  • Review architectural, electrical, telecommunications, low-voltage, and technology-related design documents.
  • Identify infrastructure conflicts, missing scope elements, operational concerns, constructability issues, and implementation risks.
  • Coordinate technical review comments between TDE SMEs and design consultants.
  • Track design comments and action items through resolution.

Construction Support and Field Coordination

  • Review RFIs, submittals, field changes, and revised drawings for technology impacts.
  • Participate in construction coordination meetings, field walks, testing activities, and implementation planning efforts.
  • Coordinate timely engagement of TDE SMEs when technical decisions or approvals are required.
  • Support technology cutovers, activations, testing, commissioning, and implementation sequencing activities.

Operational Readiness and Turnover

  • Coordinate collection and validation of as-built drawings, testing results, warranties, labeling records, and turnover documentation.
  • Support transition of completed systems to TDE operations teams.
  • Participate in operational readiness reviews and acceptance activities.

Issue Management and Reporting

  • Maintain technology-related issue logs and action-item tracking.
  • Escalate unresolved issues affecting project milestones.
  • Provide routine project status updates to TDE and P&D leadership.
     
Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in technology infrastructure, systems integration, construction support, project delivery, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting design and construction projects involving technology infrastructure.
  • Aviation, transportation, healthcare, higher education, or other mission-critical facility experience preferred.
  • PMP, BICSI, ITIL, CCNA, CCNP, or similar certifications preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technology design documents.
  • Working knowledge of network infrastructure, fiber optic systems, structured cabling, telecommunications systems, wireless systems, access control systems, CCTV systems, and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Understanding of technology implementation within active operational environments.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to identify risks, conflicts, and implementation challenges early in project development.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, and related design tools preferred.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
