About the Role:

The IT Field Technologist plays a critical role in delivering on-site technical support and solutions to clients across various locations within the United States. This position involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues to ensure optimal system performance and minimal downtime. The role requires effective communication with clients to understand their technical challenges and provide clear guidance and training when necessary. The IT Field Technologist will collaborate closely with internal teams to escalate complex issues and implement long-term improvements. Ultimately, this position ensures that clients receive timely, professional, and high-quality IT services that support their business operations and technology goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in IT support or field technician roles, preferably in a client-facing environment.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications.
  • Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and wireless technologies.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to client locations within assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
  • Experience with enterprise-level IT environments and remote support tools.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) and cloud services such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse client groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and network connectivity.
  • Perform routine system updates, backups, and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their technical needs and provide user training and support.
  • Document service activities, technical issues, and resolutions accurately in the company’s ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with remote support teams and escalate complex problems to higher-level technicians or vendors as needed.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper configuration and deployment at client sites.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and best practices while working on client premises.

The IT Field Technologist utilizes technical skills daily to install, configure, and troubleshoot a wide range of IT equipment and software, ensuring client systems operate efficiently.
