Position Summary
Atlantic Lift is seeking a proactive and solution-oriented IT Manager to oversee all aspects of our information technology infrastructure and systems. Reporting directly to the President, the IT Manager will be responsible for managing IT projects, coordinating help with technical issues, ensuring seamless integration of software systems, and providing strategic guidance on technology solutions.
A central focus of this role will be leading the development and rollout of our new custom ERP system, which we are building in-house using Claude AI for code generation. The IT Manager will own this project end-to-end - defining requirements with stakeholders, coordinating development sprints, overseeing testing, and managing deployment and adoption across the company.
This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
Requirements
Responsibilities
New ERP System Development (Claude AI build)
• Lead the end-to-end project management of the company's new custom-built ERP system.
• Work directly with leadership and department heads to gather requirements and define scope.
• Direct AI-assisted development using Claude, reviewing generated code, guiding iterations, and ensuring solutions meet business needs.
• Plan and manage development sprints, milestones, testing cycles, and rollout.
• Document architecture, configurations, and processes; train end-users and drive adoption.
IT Project Management
• Plan, execute, and manage IT projects related to hardware and software implementations, upgrades, and replacements.
• Define project scope, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Technical Problem Solving
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, network infrastructure, and operating systems.
• Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users.
ERP System Management and Integration
• Serve as the primary point of contact for ERP-related systems and providers.
• Integrate the ERP with other business systems and applications.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to ERP systems in collaboration with providers and end-users.
• Understand user needs and implement necessary configurations and customizations.
IT Support Sourcing and Management
• Identify and evaluate potential external IT support vendors and services.
• Manage relationships with external IT support providers to ensure timely and effective support when needed.
Device Management
• Oversee the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and security of all company IT devices, including computers, laptops, mobile devices, and printers.
• Implement and enforce device management policies and procedures.
Technical Communication
• Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Translate complex IT concepts into clear and understandable language for end-users and management.
Technical Proficiency
• Possess a strong understanding of IT hardware, software, networking principles, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Ability to understand and contribute to scripting or coding for integration and automation purposes is highly valued.
Strategic IT Planning
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends relevant to the construction equipment rental industry.
• Contribute to the development of the company's IT strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT management or similar role.
• Proven experience managing IT projects from inception to completion.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with and integrating ERP systems.
• Experience managing relationships with external IT vendors.
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure, hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
