APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR

Walker White Mechanical, Inc. — Columbia, SC 29203

Part Time, 25-30 hours/week | Trades / Workforce Development

ABOUT THE ROLE

Walker White Mechanical is seeking a motivated and organized Apprenticeship Program Administrator to plan, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of our apprenticeship program. This position works across multiple plumbing, sheet metal, pipefitting, welding, and HVAC apprenticeship tracks and serves as the primary liaison between our team and School District, Technical College, Labor, State, Federal, and Veteran program entities.

You will work with minimal supervision in a framework of established policies and procedures, bringing strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure program success.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Oversee daily operations and activities across multiple skilled trades apprenticeship programs (plumbing, sheet metal, pipefitting/welding, HVAC)
  • Act as primary liaison to School District, Technical College, and Labor, State, Federal, and Veteran program partners
  • Identify, recruit, and secure potential apprentices; build relationships with instructors, employers, and industry partners
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to drive strategic outcomes and program efficiency
  • Maintain and review apprentice records to monitor progress and program success
  • Administer and oversee daily operations of the program effectively
  • Perform other assigned duties related to the success of the apprentice program

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Someone who loves working with youth
  • Teaching experience is a plus, if you are a former teacher, we encourage you to apply
  • Knowledge of principles, procedures, objectives, and best practices of apprenticeship programs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills including tact, patience, and courtesy; comfortable working with diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with standard computer operations and relevant software applications
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively in various public settings
  • Experience in program administration, workforce development, education administration, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and clean criminal record
