Essential Functions
  • Communicates with teachers, parents, and counselors (e.g. student progress, behavioral issues, etc.) for the purpose of participating in needs assessments and/or assisting in evaluating progress.
  • Investigates student incidents for the purpose of resolving conflicts, taking appropriate action, and/or referring to administration for resolution.
  • Monitors students during assigned periods (e.g. study hall, lunch/after school/ISS detention, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment and helping them keep up with their classes.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings (e.g. staff meetings, team meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable with program guidelines.
  • Performs general record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. attendance logs, activity reports, incident reports, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the teacher and/or supervisory staff in meeting mandated requirements.
  • Provides verbal and/or written feedback of observations (e.g. detention forms, incident reports, etc.) for the purpose of informing teacher/s and/or parents of students' progress.
  • Responds to inquiries fromp a variety of sources (e.g. students, teachers, administrators, and/or parents, etc.) for the purpose of solving problems, providing information and/or directing to other sources.
  • Tutors students on assigned class work for the purpose of providing ongoing support in the completion of work assignments.

Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in job-related area.
Clearances: IVP (Identity Verified Print) Fingerprint Clearance Card
Certificates and Licenses: Substitute Teaching Certificate
