Job description

Scheck Hillel Community School in Miami, Florida, is looking for our next Head of School to start on or before July 1, 2027. Serving over 1,300 students, our school is the largest Modern Orthodox day school in South Florida.

Our mission: From early childhood through Grade 12, Scheck Hillel Community School educates and inspires students to become exemplary global citizens with enduring Jewish identity, values, and a commitment to the State of Israel, through a college preparatory curriculum and meaningful co-curricular experiences guided by Orthodox teachings and set within a nurturing, diverse community.

Our next Head of School will build on Hillel's 55 years of history, three generations of loving community, and strong financial position to elevate our academic program, enrich our Judaic program, and expand and modernize our facilities to serve the next generation of Hillel families.

In this position, we will ask you to:

  • Foster operational and educational excellence across four divisions
  • Work with the board to co-create and execute a five-year strategic plan and build a long, positive relationship
  • Lead the expansion of our physical space to accommodate the growing needs of the school
  • Attract and retain the best teachers and administrators in South Florida
  • Honor the school's religious tradition and mission


Ideally, you will have:

  • A systems-oriented approach that nurtures a culture of consistent excellence
  • A track record of building trust with boards, administrators, faculty and staff members, parents, and students

  • Experience building and leading a large team successfully

First-year compensation starts at $400,000 and is commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off, medical insurance, retirement plan, relocation, tuition remission for eligible children, and more.
